Summer Lovin' is the sixth episode of the first season of Country Comfort. It premiered on March 19, 2021. It is written by Ron Rappaport, and directed by Kelly Park.

Synopsis[]

Beau and Summer's relationship takes center stage after she asks him to spend the night. Elsewhere, Brody and Tuck prepare for a double date night.

Plot[]

Cassidy is ungrounded, which she had been because she was lying. She says that she’s only going to tell the truth from now on. But that doesn’t work for Beau when Summer walks in. Summer is buttering up Beau and Bailey, because she wants something.

Summer wants Beau to sleep over at her place. But he’s not ready, and goes on to blame it on the children. Of course he’s a liar and a chicken shit. Summer puts down an ultimatum, she wants to know that she’s wanted and loved. She tells Beau to stop her if she’s made a mistake but he doesn’t.

Bailey is trying to get Beau to see the light. Bailey asks him if he’s talked to the kids about staying out, but he doesn’t want to talk to them about his life.

Beau and Bailey move into the other room to talk, and he admits that he doesn’t want the kids to hate him. She tells him that the kids want him to be happy and that the kids could never hate him.

As it turns out, Brody has a date with Lorraine’s cousin, who wants to go out with him. Everyone is shocked, but trying to be supportive at the same time.

At the family meeting time, Beau walks in like he’s a ringmaster in a show; nervous and sweating and of course Cassidy calls him out. Beau talks about growing and the kids just want to know what he wants. He wants to reassure them that he still loves their Mama, but he’s gonna sleep over and lies by saying that he’s going to Alabama. Cassidy calls him out on his lie because he’s a bad liar.

To make matters worse, he draws Bailey into his lie. Like dude, that’s just not right. But then to make it worse he then tells Tuck and Brody that they need to cancel their date. Brody is upset over having to cancel the date, but Tuck always has a plan and says dates are coming over. He promised that they wouldn’t go out, but not that the dates couldn’t come in.

While looking for their dad’s cologne, Tuck finds it missing from the medicine cabinet, and comes to the conclusion he is at Summer’s place.

Later, Bailey calls Beau to let him know that Cassidy is onto him.

Beau lies to Summer that the kids were okay with him spending the night out. He leans in for a kiss, which I can respect because hey – diversion is the key to solving a lot of shit.

But Bailey calls Beau and interrupts. She’s freaking out over the lie because she’s not good at them. He says unless someones bleeding or something on fire to not call. Beau blames her for getting him into it. It’s her time to cover for him.

Lorainne and her cousin show up. Bailey wants to talk to the boys because she is angry that they lied. Tucker says he lied to them first and he figured out that he is at Summers. The boys are blackmailing Bailey to not tell them, because they want their dates to come over at the very least.

Later, the boys are singing to the girls in the barn and Brody is dancing for them. As usual, he’s stumbling over words and Lorainne’s cousin is insulted that he insinuated that she’s dumb.

Bailey calls Beau and leaves a message. He won’t answer. Cassidy and Dylan are asking a lot of questions. The boys walk in with dates and Bailey is freaking out.

Lorraine’s cousin ends up telling Cassidy that Beau is spending the night at Summer and this leads to Bailey kicking the girls out.

In the chaos, Cassidy disappears. Cassidy texts Dylan and says she’s going to Summer’s. So this leads Bailey to have everyone get in the truck to go after Cassidy.

At Summer’s place, Beau gets annoyed that Bailey wasn’t able to keep his white lie a secret from his kids. When Cassidy is nowhere to be found at Summer’s, Bailey begins to worry until Cassidy reveals that she hid behind the truck cause she knew Bailey would come to Summer’s searching for her.

Cassidy asks why they lied, but Beau wants to know why the boys told each other and their sisters. While Beau is looking for someone to blame, Cassidy just wants to know why he would lie to them in the first place.

Beau tells Cassidy that he was afraid that the kids would think that he was disrespecting their mama’s memory. He shoulda been honest. Cassidy tells him that she just wants him to be happy, they all do.

As the kids are getting ready to leave, Cassidy tells Beau that it’s a sin to have relations before marriage. Summer then tells Beau that Cassidy does have a point and walks back into her bedroom.
